Maybe mention here or below the head that this is an area that teachers struggle with a lot.

It is time to take a DEEPER DIVE to understand the role of Process in a Concept-Based Classroom.

Many teachers don’t realize that concepts can be drawn from process, strategies, and skills.

They simply “drop” skills into their lessons which, in turn, short-changes student learning.

They become something that students simply do, but don’t really understand.

Join Tiffanee Brown and Jessica Humble-Crofts to dig deeper into the role processes, strategies, and skills play across different subject areas.

Through this 5-week course, you will discover…

  • How to unlock the role that process, strategies, and skills across different subject areas.

  • Why it is important to distinguish knowledge from process.

  • Why we can't simply drop skills into our content area lessons.

  • How you can use a process-based generalization as a target of instruction in your content area classes.

  • How you can leverage the power of reflection on process to help your students develop metacognition skills and to help students internalize why we do what we do as historians, mathematicians, scientists, and so on.

Throughout this course, you will take what you are learning in the modules and transfer it to your own classroom by designing a process-based lesson plan.

Tiffanee and Jessica will walk you step-by-step through

the lesson-planning process.
